Before they were famous, Adam and Judd shared an apartment in the Valley in Los Angeles. On 60 Minutes Overtime, Judd told Anderson Cooper that even after Adam moved to New York, he continued to pay rent because he was afraid he’d “get fired” and have to go back to LA. Judd explained, “He just left, like he was going to come back, but he just didn’t come back.”

While they were still trying to break into the biz, Andrew, Eddie, and Jamie all rented an apartment together. One of Jamie’s longtime associates told the New York Post, “They ended up renting a place together and would sit around comparing all the rejections they received.”

Lauren Graham and Connie Britton

Connie and Lauren were in an acting class together, where they became good friends. Then, together they decided to move out to LA and give Hollywood a shot. On an episode of Watch What Happens Live, Lauren shared, “We lived in an empty house that we weren’t supposed to be living in. We had no furniture and all we ate were Rice Krispies Treats.”

Lea Michele and Dianna Agron

During Season 1 of Glee, Lea and Dianna lived together despite playing enemies on the show. Dianna shared that even though their characters hated each other on screen, there was a total “lovefest” back at home and they’d bake cookies and cakes for each other.

Back when Milo and Penn were filming Bedford Diaries, they shared an apartment in NYC. Milo joked that because Penn was only 19 at the time, Milo would give Penn his ID when they would go out with friends. Milo said he’d make sure Penn got into whatever club or bar they were going to, wait 15 minutes, and then try to enter using his passport.

Raven-Symoné and Lindsay Lohan

Raven and Lindsay first met on the set of a fashion shoot, and they got along instantly. Raven suggested that since they both weren’t attending college, they could still get a “roommate experience” and live together. She also shared that Lindsay got “real busy” with work so she wasn’t around much, but Lindsay kept all her clothes and shoes in the apartment and paid 14 months worth of rent.

Mae Whitman and Miles Heizer

Mae and Miles became super close while playing siblings on Parenthood and they started living together. Back in 2014, Mae told Glamour, “He’s lived with me for two years. He’s pretty special. I’ll kill him before I let him leave. He’s the most talented musician and actor. I see him taking off — not to mention he’s crazy hot, which is gross ’cause he’s like my little brother. I envision wanting to live in a house next to him for my whole life and grow old down the street from him. I want our families to always be entwined.”

Jonah Hill and Justin Long

Jonah and Justin lived together before they made it big. Justin told Andy Cohen that the best part of living together was that they’d “laugh like hyenas,” but the worst part was that they were “equally pretty messy.”

James Corden and Dominic Cooper

Dominic and James lived together in an apartment in London until James moved out and got married to his current wife, Julia Carey. Dominic shared that they only had one piece of cutlery: a spatula. Dominic said, “I remember a really depressing evening where [James] caught me — he came home and I was just eating baked beans with the spatula.”

Owen Wilson and Wes Anderson

Owen and Wes actually met during their sophomore year at the University of Texas at Austin. Their apartment wasn’t exactly the nicest place, and their landlord refused to fix whatever was broken. So, they came up with a plan to stage a break-in to urge the landlord to finally help them out. Owen and Wes even told the cops what happened with their landlord present, but neither believed them. Eventually, this whole endeavor served as the inspiration for Wes’s first feature film, Bottle Rocket

During Glee‘s six-season run, Jenna and Kevin became best friends (and still are!). They became so close that they ended up sharing a house together, which also became the party spot for the cast. In Naya Rivera’s book, Sorry Not Sorry, she recalled Jenna and Kevin’s house as being “the Love Nest,” a name that stuck after a tabloid wrote about them. Naya also shared little tidbits from their big cast parties and said, “What happens at the Love Nest stays at the Love Nest.”

Chase Stokes and Rudy Pankow

Chase and Rudy lived together while they filmed Season 1 of Outer Banks, and the rest of the cast was also in close proximity. Chase told Refinery 29, “Rudy and I were roommates. [Jonathan] lived down the hall. Maddie was a floor below us. Austin [North] was three doors down. In our house, we had this giant beanbag chair, and whether it was UFC fights or jamming out to music, or going to the beach, there was so much to do. … It was a constant party, hanging out with each other. You never knew who was going to be asleep in the living room in the morning.”

Robert Downey Jr. and Keifer Sutherland

Robert and Keifer stayed in an apartment together during the 1980s, back when they were both trying to get cast in movies. RDJ also happened to be dating Sarah Jessica Parker at the time and shared that Keifer was “a shoulder to cry on” for both RDJ and SJP whenever they were having issues in their relationship.

Nina Dobrev and Sara Canning

Back at the beginning of The Vampire Diaries, Nina and Sara lived together while they filmed the series in Atlanta. Despite Sara playing Nina’s aunt on the show, she told Teen Vogue that Nina was like her real-life family too. She also shared, “Nina is such a great roommate. We have our own bathrooms, so it’s never an issue if one of us wants to take a long shower. And we both make grocery trips whenever we have time and just share everything. We’re both really easy-going. We try to help each other stay healthy, but I usually cave and bring chocolate into the apartment.”

Stanley Tucci and Ving Rhames

Stanley and Ving roomed together while they attended college at SUNY Purchase. Stanley was actually the one who gave Ving — whose full name is Irving Rameses — his iconic nickname.

Emma Stone and Bradley Cooper

Emma and Bradley lived together while they were shooting Aloha in Hawaii. They originally both had their own places on opposite sides of the island, but when Bradley’s lease ended, he moved into Emma’s place for the final week of shooting. Emma shared that Bradley “had [his] own little section…[a] little enclave.”

Madelaine Petsch and Lili Reinhart

While shooting the first season of Riverdale, Lili and Madelaine lived together in Vancouver. Madelaine told Glamour that she’d met Lili once before Riverdale, but the show brought them together as best friends. Lili also shared a home in LA with her costar and bestie Camila Mendes.

Rashida Jones and Oliver Hudson

In a recent IG post of Oliver singing while making a cup of coffee, Rashida commented, “E walking by unbothered is a reminder of how often this happens, but as your former roommate I really miss this.”

Glen Powell and Chord Overstreet

Glen and Chord lived together at the same time Chord was still filming Glee and Ryan Murphy was trying to cast Scream Queens. Ryan told E! that he had no idea what actor he wanted to play the part of Chad Radwell, but his co-producer, Ian Brennan, said, “I know this guy Glen Powell, who’s roommates with Chord Overstreet, and I’ve been out with him and I’ve seen him do sort of improv stuff. I think he would be great.” Then, Glen met with Ryan, and he got the part!

Nikki Reed and Kristen Stewart

Nikki and Kristen lived together while they filmed The Twilight Saga: New Moon up in Vancouver. She told Us Weekly that they weren’t big partiers and didn’t tend to go out much, but instead had Peter Facinelli (who played Carlisle Cullen) make them pasta dinners.

Michael Douglas and Danny DeVito

Michael and Danny actually met in college at the University of California in Santa Barbara back in 1966 and then became roommates two years later. Michael told The Talks, “It’s tough when you get into show business and try to find good friends. People are goofy about the movie business, so you end up counting on friends you knew before you were successful. It is harder to make new friends because you are a little more cautious.”

And finally, Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling

Back when they were on The Mickey Mouse Club together, Ryan had to move into Justin’s home because the show shot in the US but Ryan’s mother had to keep working in Canada. Justin told Ellen DeGeneres, “We were probably a little closer than the rest of the kids that were on the show, just because we had to share a bathroom.”
